Grapes from the Emmental
When you think of Swiss wines, you will mainly think of wines from Valais, western Switzerland and the Three Lakes region. But grapes are also pressed in the Emmental. On a guided tour through the Burgdorf vineyard, you will learn lots of interesting facts and then taste the product directly on site.
The vineyard
Located on the edge of the city, the vineyard covers an area of around 5,000 square meters, half of which is planted with vines. The remaining space is dedicated to biodiversity and serves as an ecological compensation area.
Around 1550 vines belong to the vineyard - 940 with red and 610 with white grape varieties. These are fungus-resistant grape varieties that are well suited to organic cultivation.
The tasting
You can not only see, but also taste the types of wine that grow in Burgdorf - after the tour you will taste Muscaris, Solaris and Divico. The three wines are accompanied by an aperitif platter with cheese, meat, Züpfe and bread. Mineral water is also provided. The event ends with a cozy get-together.
